Go well year 14 students with God’s blessing
We had the privilege of welcoming the parish priest Fr S O’Neill to say our year 14 Mass of celebration.
We welcomed the parents of our pupils also.
It was a beautiful ceremony - the prospect of change for anybody here provokes a mixture of emotions, some of which are comfortable and some of which are not. Our pupils were reminded by our principal Mrs McKenna of how precious each one of them were as they embark on this next stage of their life journey – she encouraged them not to forget their roots and valuable learning achieved during their time with us. Miss Mone and their form teachers said a special blessing addressed to each pupil. It was a very special and emotional time for all.
The words of St. Paul reminds us, first, I thank my God, every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy for all of you. Secondly, we have the reassurance that, whatever the changes ahead, you do not go alone for Christ goes with you. As you experience the pain of change, and the insecurity of moving on, we pray that you may also experience the blessing of inner growth. As you walk through the good times and the bad, we pray that you may never lose sight of the shelter of God’s loving arms and that the peace of Christ may reign in your hearts always.
Go well year 14 students with God’s blessing.
